Welcome to the Proxmox Power Hour. Today we’re diving into five tips from WunderTech’s video “Take Proxmox to the Next Level.”

First, use ZFS for your storage. ZFS snapshots and replication make instant rollbacks and remote backups a breeze. As WunderTech puts it, “ZFS gives you enterprise-grade storage on a budget.”

Second, leverage Proxmox Backup Server. “Your backups are only as good as the last restore you tested,” he warns. Schedule daily backups to a remote location and test restores regularly.

Third, build or import LXC templates for lightning-fast container deployments. “Containers are lightweight and efficient,” says WunderTech, so you can spin up services in seconds.

Fourth, set up a Ceph cluster for distributed, fault-tolerant storage. “Ceph scales horizontally,” he reminds us—add disks or nodes on the fly without downtime.

Finally, automate everything with the Proxmox API and CLI. “If you’re not automating, you’re falling behind,” he advises. Use pvesh or proxmoxer to script your workflows and reclaim your weekends.

Implement these five tips, and you’ll truly take Proxmox to the next level.
