To change that, families are sending teens to an advanced car control driving school just outside Concord, North Carolina.

Stephanie Hart reports that this isn’t your average driver’s ed. Teens learn threshold braking, skid control, and emergency maneuvers on a closed race track. Instructors remind students, “Our goal is not to teach teens to drive like professional racers, but to give them the skills to keep their feet under control, maintain vehicle stability, and make split-second decisions that can save lives.”

One student admits, “Before this school I thought I knew how to drive, but now I see how unprepared I was.” With these lifesaving skills, distracted teen driving can meet its match.
