Hello and welcome to Daily Game Updates. Today’s big story: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has been delayed until early 2026. Developed by Skydance New Media, the World War II–set action-adventure was originally slated to launch later this year. In a post on X, the studio explained, “Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish.”
First teased in 2021, Marvel 1943 is the inaugural project from Skydance’s new gaming division led by Amy Hennig, the former Naughty Dog creative director behind the Uncharted series. The game promises to let players step into the boots of Captain America, Black Panther’s grandfather Azzuri, Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Wakandan spy Nanali. We’ve only seen a single trailer so far, shown during last year’s State of Unreal showcase.
Skydance New Media is also hard at work on an epic Star Wars title. We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge. Thanks for listening!
