Welcome to the WunderTech podcast. Today, I’m showing you “How I Monitor My Entire Home Lab.” Imagine having real-time visibility into every server, uptime alert and log entry—all at your fingertips. “With just a few lines of configuration,” you can scrape detailed CPU, memory, disk and network stats using Prometheus and Node Exporter. Those metrics flow straight into Grafana, where you get beautiful dashboards for every host.
For uptime checks I turn to Uptime Kuma. As I say in the video, “it’s dead-simple to set up and you get instant alerts when something goes down.” I pair that with Prometheus Alertmanager to push notifications to Slack or Telegram within seconds.
On the logging side, I rely on Loki and Grafana’s built-in Explore view. “Collect your logs, index just the metadata, and keep costs low,” I explain—while still being able to drill into full log lines when you need them.
By combining Prometheus, Grafana, Uptime Kuma and Loki, you’ll have a robust, scalable monitoring stack for everything in your home lab. That’s all for today—happy monitoring!
