Hello and welcome to today’s podcast. Adam Savage recently answered questions on everything from TV guest tips to airline boarding. First up: advice for anyone about to appear on a well-known show. Adam says, “Do your homework, know your talking points, and treat it like a conversation—not an audition.” He recommends prepping stories and visuals so you can jump right in.
Next, when inspiration runs dry, Adam advises, “Don’t wait for inspiration to strike—start making and inspiration will follow.” He calls it “priming the pump” and stresses that momentum breeds ideas.
On balancing making with business, Adam estimates he spends about half his time in the shop building and half managing Tested, a split that lets him stay creative while keeping the lights on.
Finally, his thoughts on United’s new boarding process? Adam prefers back-to-front group boarding, calling the new zone system “a bit chaotic” compared to the old familiar rows. What’s your favorite boarding method? Let us know!
