Welcome back to FitTech Focus. Today we’re talking Peloton’s big announcement: Repowered, its very own resale marketplace for pre-owned Bikes, Treads, Rows and accessories. Right now the site is “currently only open for listing items, with the ability to purchase items coming soon.” Sellers in Boston, New York and Washington, DC can start listing their large equipment by entering serial numbers, while anyone nationwide can list smaller accessories. You set your price or accept a suggested price based on age and condition. Once buyers arrive, you handle delivery or pickup, and you earn 70 percent of the sale. Even better, you’ll get up to $600 off your next Peloton—$400 off a Bike+, $600 off a Tread+, and more. Peloton handles the transaction to help you “never have to worry about scams,” and they only share a general location for safe meetups. Activation fees are down from $95 to $45, and the All Access Membership stays at $44 a month. Repowered might just be the trusted, hassle-free alternative to Facebook Marketplace.
