President Trump has a new plane on its way from Qatar – but he says it’s “too big, much too big.” He did also call the aircraft “magnificent” and “beautiful, big,” yet he can’t get past its massive size. The jet in question is a Boeing 747-8, a stretch model that’s 18 feet longer than the current Air Force One and far larger than his personal Boeing 757. Here’s the twist: the Trump administration actually asked Qatar about swapping aircraft after Boeing warned it couldn’t deliver a new presidential jet until 2027. Qatar agreed to hand over its 747-8, but now lawyers on both sides are still negotiating whether it’s a $400 million gift or a lease – and who takes responsibility for future ownership.
