Hello and welcome to your Apple news flash. Apple’s upcoming HomePod Software 26 update will support the original first-generation HomePod along with all succeeding HomePod models, according to a private account on X with a proven track record. That’s great news for fans still rocking the first HomePod eight years after its launch. While Apple hasn’t revealed new features yet, we’re hoping for notable upgrades, especially “improvements to the Siri experience.” Rather than calling it HomePod Software 19, Apple is aligning its numbering with this year’s major releases, so you’ll see “26” across iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and now HomePod software. Looking ahead, the HomePod family could grow even larger with Apple’s long-rumored smart home hub. We may get an early preview at WWDC 2025, which kicks off Monday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The keynote will be live streamed on Apple’s website, YouTube, and the TV app. Stay tuned for all the updates from WWDC right here.
