Welcome to Style on the Go. Today we’re talking about Flojos Olivia wedge flip-flops. Last summer, writer Hannah Frye walked eight miles in them on Brooklyn’s concrete sidewalks—and her feet? “Perfectly fine,” she says: no blisters, no sore ankles. These simple wedges cost around forty dollars and feel soft and supportive thanks to a lightweight EVA foam footbed. As Frye puts it, “standing in these shoes feels like standing on a yoga block.” The straps are made from slightly stretchy polyurethane, gliding against your skin rather than rubbing. The small wedge elevates your toes just enough to protect you from hot sand or city debris, and the foam dries quickly if they get wet. Podiatrist Paul Greenberg even recommends this style for people with high arches or flat feet, because the wedge absorbs shock and reduces strain. Frye warns they’re not for rough terrain or marathon walks, but for everyday summer style and comfort, she’ll keep on wearing them all season long.
