Welcome back to Triangle Bites. Another sweet treat is coming to Raleigh’s midtown area. Dallas-based Andy’s Frozen Custard has chosen the former Wendy’s site at 3901 Capital Boulevard, near Wade Avenue, for its first local stand-alone shop. The 1,826-square-foot building will seat 40 guests indoors, plus 20 more on a shaded patio, and feature a 24-hour drive-thru. Andy’s offers hand-spun concretes, shakes, sundaes and seasonal specials, and now boasts nearly 200 locations nationwide. “We’re thrilled to bring our premium frozen custard to the bustling Raleigh midtown corridor,” said an Andy’s spokesperson. Developer Great Outdoors is leading the project and expects to add more retailers alongside the custard shop. Ice cream fans can look forward to a grand opening in early 2026.
